Diploma in Jyotisa
I’ve received a wonderful response to the course enrolment announcement, thank you all for the interest and support. Given the enthusiasm, I’ve decided to keep enrolment open a little longer and may split the teachings into two batches if needed.
As this is the first year I’m offering this program, it’s also a valuable opportunity for me to refine and evolve the course based on experience and feedback. For that reason, the price is set at a modest $680. From next year, the course will be priced more appropriately to reflect its full value: 24 teaching sessions and 12 dedicated Q&A sessions.
If you’ve been considering a structured study of Jyotisa (Indian astrology), I warmly invite you to join this journey.
Astrological Commentary
The Full Moon in Jyestha, occurring a mere 24 hours before the Moon’s transition into the nodal axis, suggests a high probability of considerable imbalances impacting the areas of life that is falling in Sagittarius in individual charts and for further insights, I am available for a personal session. While the Full Moon holds the potential for great enlightenment, its illuminating power is tempered by the duality inherent in Jyestha, a Naskhatra that often presents paradoxical and contrasting aspects, mirroring the multifaceted nature of the inner shades of a human being. While there is significant potential for eminence, a tendency towards envy and the potential for that envy to turn into destructive jealousy could easily cast a shadow of doubt over the coming two weeks .However, it is important to understand that what is rightfully ours will always find its way to us, and what is not meant for us will never come our way, therefore allowing for a greater sense of enlightenment - after all this is a full moon.
The Moon’s progression across the squares of the Nodes, the karmic axis, necessitates an understanding of its potential to trigger pivotal moments, crises, or profound realisations; these transformative experiences can significantly alter our thought processes and remain influential until the next lunation. With Mars in Leo, passions may surge, yet these very moments present a time for reflection, enabling us to decelerate, pause thoughtfully, and contemplate the kind of humans we aspire to become. Therefore, finding oneself at a crossroads isn’t necessarily negative; in fact, such situations might offer something valuable and enduring that can sustain us for years to come.
The waning moon’s opposition to Mercury will cause a profound separation between the heart and mind, leading to a complete disconnect in thought and feeling. While the disconnection might initially seem negative, it actually compels us to seriously contemplate the crucial decision of whether to prioritise our emotions or intellect, leading to a deeper self-understanding. It’s a good time for brainstorming and gathering all potentially decisive points to guide our path forward; however, it’s advisable to delay reaching a final decision until the Moon’s transit through Sagittarius is complete.
Concurrently, a square between the Moon and Saturn will introduce certain restrictions and limitations, potentially compelling us to adjust our current life trajectory. While the final outcome will not be affected, there is a possibility that our strategy will be modified in certain aspects. This is a time for deep self-reflection and emotional growth, a period in which we can critically evaluate our long-held beliefs and replace them with a new framework to guide us towards more productive action, thus resulting in new systems and plans. By the end of this fortnight, limitations and restrictions will have spurred the creation of innovative ways.
Though emotionally taxing at times, focusing on present challenges allows us to uncover opportunities shaping our future. Remember that Mars in Leo continues to energise us, but remember to take a moment to reflect on the obstacles, the quiet moments offering opportunities for insightful self-reflection.

Inward Glance
Epictetus’ Discourses
Book I - Chapter-I - Essence of 1.1.14 to 1.1.17.
Epictetus points out that only one thing truly belongs to us and is worth our care: our inner thoughts and choices. This inner power is the core of our freedom and that is exactly what we should focus our attention on. However, instead of focussing on the inner power, we spread our care and attachment over many external things. We become attached to our bodies, to their possessions, to their family and friends, and even to many other things.
Because of these many attachments, we become burdened and weighed down. Our happiness and peace depend on external factors that are beyond our control. When those things change or fail us, we are dragged along by circumstances and eventually, lose our calm.
Epictetus uses the example of wind to help us understand this underlying thought. If the weather prevents us from traveling, we might worry and keep asking, “Which way is the wind blowing?” If it blows from the north, we say that is not good and hope it will blow from the west instead. But we do not control the wind. It blows as Aeolus, the god who controls the wind. This reminds us that some things are controlled by divine or natural forces beyond our influence.
So what should we do in situations like this? The answer is simple but profound. We need to focus on what is within our control, our own choices, judgments, and actions. For everything else, we should accept it as part of reality and move on. Recognising that the unfolding of external events is governed by a higher power, whether divine or natural, we choose acceptance and alignment with this reality, rather than resistance or a longing for an alternate outcome. This acceptance helps us to avoid the frustration that can arise from external circumstances, thereby promoting a sense of inner peace and tranquility, regardless of what life throws our way.
